Meet Jai Reed, Editor

Jai has been involved with community based positive media since 2001 when she took over The Wellness Directory and launched The Blue Star Gazette.

Along with being editor of The Wellness Directory and The Blue Star Gazette, Jai is a full-time student working towards credentials for being a Child and Family Counselor with a specialty in addictions.

She is shown here after graduating with honors from the Addiction Studies program at Peninsula College with her Opportunity Grant Coordinator, Melissa Delikat in June 2009. Jai is currently working on a degree in Applied Psychology at Evergreen State College after receiving the WAVE scholarship (Washington Award for Vocational Excellence).

A long time yoga teacher and alternative health care promoter, Jai lives in Port Townsend. She is a single mother to Renae Reed and Bryan Reed.

Renae is currently living in Port Townsend working as a Copy Editor at The Leader, after living in Buenas Aires for close to a year. She is a graduate of Evergreen State College and was administrative Administrative Assistant for Cirque Juventas, a performing arts school for youth in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Jai's son Bryan has taught English in China and became fluent in Spanish while living with his sister and studying at Buenas Aires University. He is a student at Seattle University majoring in Biology planning on medical school in Rehabilitation Medicine and working on becoming an EMT.

Jai's passions are psychology, writing, creativity and health. She loves hiking in the mountains, growing pumpkins, trudging the road of happy destiny and the pleasure of well placed noun. She is learning to listen.
